Pop legend Van Morrison will headline the Marston House concerts on the Saturday of the Frome Festival finale weekend. The Friday concert will be a tribute to supergroups Abba and Queen. The Festival Proms on Sunday night will feature guest soloist Jane Gilchrist. This year s Frome Festival Summer School is The Dream of Gerontius by Elgar. Plans for the Frome Festival, now in its fifth year, are well under way and yet again there will be many exciting events on offer. There will be at least 122 events, plus exhibitions throughout the town and surrounding area. It will be a comprehensive programme of many types of music, with strong classical, folk, and jazz programmes, great world music and some big surprises. For film buffs there will be a terrific choice of films and the literary content of the festival is as wide and diverse as ever. Comedy is on the list and we are building on the great success of the Dance element last year. Old Favourites such as the World Feast, the Summer School and the spectacular music and firework weekend will be returning. There will be workshops galore, events for children, walks, talks and much more. The full programme for the festival will be available by the beginning of May ...............
